Last year, students' work began with visits with organizations doing work related to the L.A. River. By the end of the year students had narrowed their focus to topics such as water quality testing, tenants' rights, and green spaces. The above documentary was created by one group that did ecological and social research on the Big Dig, a local initiative by the L.A. County Flood Control District to remove built up sediment from the Devil's Gate Dam basin.
The documentary chronicles the group's work. Since then, the Altadena Town Council has expressed interest in screening it, and members of the group introduced the film at the Arroyo Seco Foundation's quarterly meeting.
